Boop is on External TestFlight
Boop — my local-first WHOOP strap to Apple Health utility — just got external TestFlight approval. Here's what it is, what it isn't, and where to join.
I shipped a small iPhone app called Boop, and external TestFlight just opened.
This is not a launch post with fireworks. It's a practical note: what Boop does, how privacy works, and where to go if you want to try it.
What Boop is
Boop is a local-first utility. On a supported iPhone, it reads data from a compatible WHOOP strap over the paths the app is built for, and writes the supported fields into Apple Health.
The point is narrow on purpose. I wanted my own recovery and strain signals in Health alongside everything else I already track — without standing up another account, another cloud dashboard, or another place my health history lives by default.
Boop is independent. It is not affiliated with WHOOP, Apple, or Bevel. It is not a medical device, and it is not claiming clinical accuracy. Compatibility is documented on the site and will keep evolving as hardware and OS versions move.
Privacy posture
There is no Boop account and no Boop health cloud.
Support, privacy, compatibility, and methodology live on the public site. The app is built so your health data stays on-device in the usual Apple Health sense — Boop is not a second silo I operate for your biometrics.
If you care about that boundary (I do), read the privacy and disclaimer pages before you install anything. They are intentionally boring and specific.
External TestFlight
Apple approved external TestFlight for Boop. That means people outside my internal tester list can join the beta from the public link.
Primary entry point is still the product site — support docs, compatibility notes, and the join path live together:

Expect beta software. Builds will break, straps and iOS versions matter, and I will keep the site honest about what is supported.
What I'm not claiming
- Not App Store GA.
- Not a WHOOP partner product.
- Not a replacement for clinical judgment or a medical device.
- Not "we store your health data so you can graph it in our cloud."
If that list is a relief rather than a letdown, you're the audience.
